If you are planning a road trip to Six Flags Amusement Park soon, make sure you get online first and check the season dates for archery season in Missouri, because they actually allow bowhunting with permission from the park!

According to an article posted last week on outdoorhub.com, a Six Flags employee presented a written letter seeking permission to bow hunt on the park’s property.  The board approved the man’s request.  The article posted the following statement:

“We approved the permit for bow hunting,” said Mayor Kevin Coffey. “Just that individual. Every individual would have to come up here and apply, and they have to have permission from Six Flags. They have to show us that they are in in a safe spot, hunting in a safe method.”

Apparently, the park has denied requests to bowhunt in the past, but due to a “small boom in deer numbers in the area”, they are reconsidering.  The actual hunts will take place nowhere near the park itself or any residential areas, and bowhunters interested in applying will need to contact both the Six Flags St. Louis management, as well as the Eureka board.
