Hunting:

General season for Deer and Elk has come to an end but we still have some migratory bird season open including Duck and Goose. Stop on in and gear up for some cold migratory bird hunting. Please review your regulations for specific details on the areas you plan on hunting or fishing. And make sure to bring pictures down of your successful hunts or catches and post them on our bulletin board.

Fishing:

Helena Ice Report: Ice is pretty scarce so far around Helena, there are reports of some folks ice fishing near shore on Hauser and near the causeway, as well, but the ice conditions were not ideal, even though its warm this week we are still dipping below freezing at night and we should be seeing some opportunity to get out on the ice in a couple more weeks.

Fly fishing: With the warm weather this week it’s a great time to get out. Think small and pink…nymphing with pinks reds and salmon colors should produce. The Missouri’s running 4600 CFS at wolf creek and if it stays around the 40’s and partly cloudy it’d be a great day to call in sick and enjoy the holidays on the river.
