The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation of Missoula will be the resting spot for the largest elk ever taken in Montana for a few weeks. On May 8th, the elk will go on display. Steve Felix shot the bull on public land in eastern Montana last September with a gross score of 447 inches and a net of 430 (Boone & Crocket, Pop & Young). It is not only the largest elk ever taken in Montana, but also the largest killed with a bow and the largest taken in North America in 48 years.
