Sunscreen Alternatives Through Food!
If you’re in Montana, our summers are HOT…sometimes brutal! But, one thing that happens is the sun shines A LOT. What happens if you are out camping and you run out of sunscreen? If that happens, check your food and oil stash to see if you have any of the following and substitute for sunscreen–it’s better than nothing until you can get more sunscreen!
- Avocado Oil (SPF 4-10)
- Coconut Oil (SPF 4-10)
- Carrot Seed Oil (SPF 35-50)
- Diaper Rash Cream (that contains zinc oxide) (up to SPF 20)
- Eucalyptus Oil (SPF 3)
- Peppermint Oil (SPF 7)
- Raspberry Seed Oil (SPF 30-50)
- Sesame Oil (SPF 4-10)
- Shea Butter (SPF 6-10)
