Seeley Lake Waters Reopened to all Recreation

Seeley Lake waters are open again to boating and other recreation, effective immediately. The lake has been under a temporary emergency closure since August 1 while planes scooped water from the lake to fight the Rice Ridge Fire.

The fire remains active, and suppression efforts continue, but there is not a need to restrict activity on the lake at this time.  Crews are working to remove closure signs and inform people on and around the lake.

For up-to-date information on this closure and restrictions related to drought and fire, visit fwp.mt.gov/news/restrictions/ or call the FWP office in Missoula at 406-542-5500.
