The 2019 Fall Mack Days Fishing Event will soon be here. If you have already sent in your entry for the event please disregard this reminder. If you have not this is just a reminder to get your entry in before or on September 15th to qualify for the $200 Early Bird Drawing-one prize-you must also enter at least one lake trout during the event.

Thank you to everyone who has helped to make past events successful. Mack Days Fishing Events are used as a management tool to reduce non-native lake trout in Flathead Lake and increase the native bull trout and westslope cutthroat trout in the lake. The native fish are an important part of the history of the lake, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal history, and the history of the State of Montana.

The 2019 Fall Event is the thirty fifth event since the start of the events in the Fall of 2002. That year eighty anglers turned in a total of 888 lake trout in fifteen days.  The event for the fall went to forty five days in 2015. The record high total for a Fall Event was in 2015 with 19,540 lake trout entries. Lowest number since we began the forty five days during an event is 14,700 in 2017. The 2016 event total was 17,527 and  the 2018 total was 15,423. Weather is a huge factor on the events so we are hoping for good fishing weather for the 2019 Fall Mack Days Event.

Good luck and tight lines everyone!
