Some good news has come out of the Hi –Line this week. Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Region 6 has expanded a program that allows young people the opportunity to check out free fishing gear and tackle. The program and was first established in 2007. This includes four-hundred rods as well as the tackle that can be checked out from participating outlets. Rods are set up and ready to go rigged with bobbers, split-shot and hooks.
The program has become known as “Kids to Fish” and allows children to gain free access to fishing equipment at 47 various sites along Montana’s Hi-Line.
New local outlets will help to provide even more Montana kids along the Hi-Line and beyond to get a chance to fish our beautiful state, and the best news is its free! All they have to do is get their own bait and they are on there way.
