One of the hardest parts about hunting in western Montana, is access. It involves a lot of hiking to get to where the game are, and what feels like twice as much hiking to get them out. I was always fortunate growing up, to get game near spots I could retrieve with a vehicle (ATV, Truck etc.) In western Montana, it isn’t always that easy. Your only option is having a buddy with a horse , or carrying out your kill on your back. Thankfully, the Kiwi’s have an ancient way of packing out a deer, that may come in handy this fall. Check out how to make a deer backpack.
