New Paddlefish Reporting Regulations

Paddlefish anglers will take to the rivers beginning in some areas on May 1st for the fishing season that runs through June 30th or until it is closed by order of the Montana FWP.  A later bow-fishing season will be open for the Ft. Peck Dredge cuts from July 1st – August 31st.

But before hitting the river, paddlefish anglers should be aware of a new requirement this year.

Anglers harvesting a paddlefish anywhere in Montana are now required to report their harvest within 48 hours. Anglers not reporting a harvested paddlefish will not be eligible to purchase a paddlefish tag the following year.

Be sure to purchase a conservation and paddlefish license and obtain a tag.  Tags must remain open unless they are affixed to a paddlefish or they will be invalid.
