Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking information about a deer carcass that was dumped recently near the Yellowstone River at Matthews Recreation Area, a Bureau of Land Management site nine miles northeast of Miles City off of Valley Drive East.

The backstraps were removed from the deer and all other portions of the meat were wasted. Numerous goose carcasses also were dumped, some with the breast removed, and many were wasted with no meat taken.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to call FWP Warden Sergeant Todd Anderson at 406-853-7300, or contact FWP’s TIP-MONT Hotline at 1-800-TIP-MONT (1-800-847-6668). Callers may remain anonymous.
