A Great Falls couple were killed in a boating accident Tuesday afternoon, June 18, on the Missouri River in Great Falls.

Dennis Sire, 66, and Karon Sire, 57, died after their personal watercraft collided about 4:30 p.m. on the Missouri just upstream from the 10th Ave. South Bridge.

Both victims were wearing their life jackets. There was no one else involved in the accident.

“It doesn’t appear at this time in the investigation that alcohol was involved,” said Fish, Wildlife and Parks Game Warden Captain Dave Holland.

FWP is conducting the accident investigation.

The Cascade County Sheriff’s Office will do the coroner report.

Besides FWP and the County Sheriff’s office, the Great Falls Fire Department, Great Falls Police Department assisted at the accident scene.

Holland wanted to remind recreationists to be careful during the summer boating season and always wear personal flotation devices.
