Caribou, also known as reindeer in Europe and Asia, are awesome creatures of the northern wilderness. These large members of the deer family are known for their impressive migrations, covering vast distances in search of food and suitable habitats. Caribou are well-adapted to the harsh arctic and subarctic climates, with specialized hooves that help them traverse snow and ice. They have unique antlers that both males and females grow, with males shedding theirs after the rutting season. Caribou play a crucial role in the ecosystems they inhabit, shaping vegetation and providing sustenance for predators like wolves and bears. However, these iconic animals face threats from habitat loss, climate change, and human activities such as hunting and industrial development.

Check out this herd that somebody in Alaska captured. What a crazy experience this would be!
