Georgetown Lake is still producing as cooler fall weather settles into the high country, according to the September 11, 2026 report from Blackfoot River Outfitters. With temperatures hovering in the 50s and 60s and a mix of clouds and sunshine ahead, subsurface fishing is becoming the main event. As the report puts it, “Look for fish on the edge of weed beds and cruising the sunnier spots in the mornings and evenings.” Cooler afternoons should fish well, too, with balanced leeches and scuds under an indicator or stripped Woolly Buggers and small streamers all worth a shot. Don’t completely retire the dries just yet, though: afternoon Callibaetis, hoppers, and beetles could still tempt trout to the surface. Georgetown remains open under its seasonal regulations, with special July 1 through March 31 rules applying to the South and East shoreline areas, so check the regulations before fishing those waters.
