15th Annual Free Kids Fishing Day at Glen Lake Rotary Park

15th Annual Free Kids Fishing Day at Glen Lake Rotary Park

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to get the kids away from the screens and toward the shoreline, the Bozeman Sunrise Rotary Club has you covered. On May 16th, Glen Lake Rotary Park transforms into a tackle-box-toting paradise for the 15th Annual Free Kids Fishing Day.

Whether your little ones are seasoned pros at untangling line or they still think a “spinner” is just a fidget toy, this event is the perfect way to soak up some Montana spring. Running from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, it’s a focused window of outdoor fun designed for kids ages 4 to 12.

Here is why you should clear the morning schedule:

  • Zero Barrier to Entry: It’s free. In a world where even a bag of ice costs a fortune, a morning of organized community fun that costs $0 is the ultimate “catch.”
  • The “Ooh, a Fish!” Factor: There is nothing quite like the chaotic joy of a six-year-old realizing something is actually pulling back on the other end of the string.
  • Location, Location, Location: Glen Lake (also known as East Gallatin Recreation Area) is the perfect backdrop for a family Saturday.

This event has been a local staple for fifteen years now, and for good reason. It’s organized by people who actually care about getting the next generation hooked on the outdoors—shoutout to Mike Banville and the rest of the Sunrise Rotary crew who have been keeping this tradition afloat since day one.

The Details:

  • When: May 16th | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Where: Glen Lake Rotary Park, Bozeman

  • More Info: bozemansunriserotary.org

So, grab the sunscreen, pack a few snacks, and get ready for a morning of “reel” fun!

See you at the lake!
