It turns out that the NWWFA Spring Fling Fishing Derby was a success!  Paul Rossignol, President of  the Noxon Warm Water Fishery Association, reported that there were 24 competitors for the derby, and the weather was great.  “Everyone got into the smallmouth bass, but walleye were hard to come by,” said Rossignol.

  • 1st place team: Stan Fisher and Barry Cole (also won big fish prize – 5.9lbs)
  • 2nd place team: Bob Hickey and Jason Mundel (Kalispell)
  • 3rd place team: Doug and Kelly Jacobi (Cascade)

The pig roast that followed the derby was hosted by John Harris, the proprietor, at the Lakeside Motel and Resort.  “As a result of the fundraiser,” Rossignal said, “NWWFA will be donating $500 to Sanders County Sheriff’s Relief Fund and $100 to the Sanders County Kids Fishing Day, held in Trout Creek, Montana.”

Congratulations to the winners, and great job to all the participants from the Montana Outdoor Radio Show!
