You don’t have to be a bird fanatic to appreciate the live owl and osprey cams set up in Missoula and the surrounding areas!

The Owl Research Institute’s website boasts two live cameras that are fixated on the nests of a Great Horned Owl nest and a Long-Eared Owl nest in Montana’s Mission Valley, white the University of Montana’s Department of Geosciences has a website with two live bird cams that feature footage of osprey nests–one in Missoula at the Riverside Health Care Center and the other in Lolo at the Dunrovin Guest Ranch.

For more than 25 years, the Owl Research Institute, a non-profit organization located in Charlo, Montana, has focused on researching Montana’s 15+ species of owls.  For more information on the organization and for updates on their live owl cams, be sure to like them on Facebook, by clicking HERE, and visit their website at http://www.owlinstitute.org/.

The University of Montana’s GeoSciences department is currently conducting studies on four osprey nests, while two of those nests are featured on their website with live streaming footage.  You can also like them on Facebook to get updates and information on the cams and other research projects.

These live cameras give people that appreciate Montana’s wildlife an opportunity to see these native birds in their own environment.  The bird cams are definitely worth checking out, but be careful, because they are addictive!
