Montana Hunting and Fishing Report 5/21/16

As we gear up for Memorial Day, fishing is picking up around the state. Hear the latest statewide hunting and fishing reports, from the most recent episode of the Montana Outdoor Radio Show.

-Bill from Rock Creek Marina says the upper Brown’s Lake has been phenomenal.
-Brett French Outdoor Editor of the Billings Gazette talks about his article at www.montanaoutdoor.com on recent events with some Yellowstone Tourists
-Carolyn Persico from the Rock Creek Mercantile reports on area fishing in Western and Southwestern MT.
-Chancy from Snappy’s in Kalispell says with the rivers and streams opening up, area fishing should be good for kokannee.
-Charlie at Don’s says the fishing on Spring Creek is a little muddy, and Ackley Lake is doing well, and the Missouri River is picking up.
-Cherene the Adventure Queen says the flows are up on the Bitterroot River, and there are good reports out of Harper’s Lake
-Dallas at Highline Cleaners in Chester says Tiber’s been a bit slow but there have been some reports of Northerns & walleye.
-Dennis Hanson reports from Fresno Reservoir May 21st
-John at Lakeside Resort in Trout Creek says Noxon Rapids Reservoir the bass fishing should be good this week, and there is a bass tournament going on currently.
-Leonard Roberts from Great Falls says the perch are biting again on Holter.
-Chris of the Stone Fly Fly Shop in Butte says the caddis is everywhere on the Bighole,.
-Rob from Ronan Sports and Western says with fishing season opening this weekend, Jocko and other waters should be fishable.
-Ron Aashiem of the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks shares some interesting facts & figures on Montana fishing, and Montana anglers spent nearly a Billion dollars this part year on fishing. For more information go to www.fwp.mt.gov.
-Ryan of Bob Wards says in Helena says still get your boat out on Canyon Ferry Lake, and on the Missouri River you might want to be using Caddis. In the Bozeman area, the Upper Madison is fish well above the West Fork, and in the Butte area The Jefferson is fishing well as the Bighole slowed down bit.
-Sharon at the Silos on Canyon Ferry in Helena says trout fishing is good on Canyon Ferry Lake.
-Tammy of Northwestern Sports in Eureka says the area pike are biting on smelt.
-Toby Walrath From The Montana Trappers Association reports on the 15th Annual National Trappers Association Western Regional Trapping & Outdoor Expo May 21st
Woody Schuler of Woody Lures in Townsend says the Spring weather has really helped improve the fishing on area rivers and lakes.
