Kalispell, MT. August 15, 2016 –Log hauling on the west side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road #895 has started from the Heinrude area (mile post 36), to Highway 2 in Hungry Horse.  Two log trucks, making two trips per day is planned, and should take a week to complete.

Log hauling on the east side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road #38 is anticipated to start today from the Firefighter Timber Sale (mile post 15), to Highway 2 near Martin City.  Several log trucks per day are planned – this activity “should” persist until the snow flies.  Additional log hauling activity is planned from the Tin Mule Timber Sale (mile post 45), down the east side road; scheduled to begin the last week in August, and “should” continue until the snow flies as well.

The east side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road #38 identifies CB channel 15 as the channel to communicate with the log trucks, and the west side Hungry Horse Reservoir Road #895 identifies CB channel 22.  The recommend method to increase travel safety is to keep your speed slow and prudent, anticipate a log truck at any corner, and stay in your lane, especially when your lane is the outside lane of a sharp curve.
