In early 2021, Justin Teegarden from Helena had an incredible ice fishing experience on Fort Peck Reservoir, landing a remarkable pike. Despite a challenging battle, the pike measured 49″ long and weighed 28.5lbs. Heath Headley, FWP fisheries biologist for Fort Peck, suggested the fish could very well be over 30 years old.
As the upcoming ice fishing season approaches, Justin shares his inspiring catch as motivation for fellow anglers to hit the hard water, emphasizing the unpredictability and excitement that comes with every drop of the line. He attached a photo of the colossal pike, adding a sense of scale with his 6’4″ frame, and wishes all tight lines and successful adventures.
