According to a recent article by Natalie Krebs via Outdoor Life, the Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking assistance from the public in identifying the individual responsible for tampering with dog treats by inserting numerous fish hooks and scattering them along a section of the Appalachian Trail in Lehigh County.
The treats, discovered by a group of thru-hikers, raised alarm as they noticed the hooks embedded within the soft portion of the treats. Prompt action was taken by the Lehigh Gap Nature Center and PGC officials, who are now urging hikers and dog owners to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity along the trails.
