For many students, this wasn’t just a workshop, it was an immersive experience in the recreation and heritage of Montana’s backyard.

The National Park Service has selected Belton Chalets, Inc. to provide backcountry lodging, food and beverage, and other services at Glacier National Park under concession contract CC-GLAC004-26. The new contract will begin on Jan. 1, 2026, and has a term of 10 years.

The National Park Service (NPS), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is seeking public input on an environmental assessment (EA) for the reconstruction of the new permanent North Entrance Road in Yellowstone National Park.

The wind event that impacted the Custer Gallatin National Forest in mid-December, resulted in numerous trees falling across roadways, trails, and campground areas.
