The following is from Chancy’s Fish Camp:
Murphy lake derby on Feb 28th has been canceled.
Fisher River/Thompson Chain of Lakes derby is still on for this weekend.
Lower and Upper Thompson
Ice is in good shape, keep a eye on shorelines in the afternoons. Lower has been good for nice perch and few salmon. Throw a tip up out for pike. Upper lots of smaller perch and few nice pike and salmon and trout.
Middle Thompson
Ice is decent mostly west of Logan state park. Kalispell end had less ice. Some nice perch and salmon had been being caught on the west end.
Loon Lake (TCL)
Good ice, some nice crappie, rainbows and pike being caught.
Island lake
Good ice, some nice perch, small sunfish and few nice pike being caught.
Little McGregor
Good ice, lots of smaller perch few brookies.
McGregor lake
Mostly all open possibly put your boats in.
Rodgers lake
Good ice, still some nice Grayling being caught early mornings few Cutthroat.
Smith lake
Good ice, some nice perch still being caught. Try small dead minnows for pike on tip ups.
Blanchard lake
Good ice catching smaller crappie & perch and few nice pike.
Lower Stillwater
Great ice, catching few pike, lake trout and lots smaller perch.
Lake Mary Ronan
6 to 8″ mostly all in good shape. Stay away from the presssure ridge. Fishing has been slow overall. Few nice perch and some salmon. Our free family derby still scheduled for 2/21 come down to Fish Camp to sign up.
Flathead sloughs
Ice can change daily with springs and warming along shorelines. Church has been decent for pike up to 10lbs few perch and crappie.
Ashley Lake
Ice is not the best 3 to 5″ perch and salmon fishing had been decent watch out for pressure ridges.
Lake 5
Decent ice, catching smaller salmon and few nice perch and rainbows.
Flathead lake
Boat fishing has been great, Big fish near delta on dead bait in 15 to 40′ water. Try trolling deeper in 180′ water with FlatFish or Brad’s cut plugs. FISH ON CHARTERS has been doing great on the deeper water bite check in with Cameron Hockett.
Koocanusa Reservior
Still fishing great for Rainbows and BullTrout.
Try near the dam trolling PlugIt plugs in gold colors or purples. Rexford launch is closed try Abayance bay possible open to use for North end fishing.
