The new permit season ends on February 28, 2026. Conservation and recreation permits will expire on that date and must be renewed, as the new permit season begins on March 1, 2026, and will run through February 2027.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) is launching a new License Ambassador program for all external license sales. This program partners with local businesses and utilizes a secure web-based system, eliminating the need for outdated equipment.
FWP has established a License Ambassador hotline, available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at 1-888-201-8226. Alternatively, you can contact the CSKT Division of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation, and Conservation at 406 6th Ave East, Monday to Thursday, from 7 AM to 5:30 PM at (406) 675-2700.
Please note that the new system does not accept cash or checks for license purchases. Visit fwp.mt.gov/buy and apply.
Please double-check your purchase or application before final submission. Once an application has been entered or an over-the-counter license has been purchased, it is final and cannot be changed.
If you have any questions or need assistance, contact
Sattie Fisher, Recreation Permit Agent for the Division of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation and Conservation @ (406) 675-2700 ext. 7227
