Just a reminder that before you pack it in for the year, here’s a quick heads-up: while most licenses wrap up on February 28, a few seasons aren’t quite done yet. According to Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, mountain lion and wolf hunting roll on past the close of the license year, and some trapping seasons do too.

If you’re using E-tags, keep in mind they’ll go inactive in the app after Feb. 28 — so FWP recommends grabbing an offline license from a regional office to avoid any hiccups.

Have questions? The licensing hotline at 406-444-2950 has you covered, and you can always double-check season dates at fwp.mt.gov/hunt.
