You have probably heard of the “Dream Team”, consisting of Bill Zahradka, the Salmon Slayer, and Gary Rueb, the Black Jaw Fly Guy, out on Fort Peck doing some totally normal, highly professional pre-fishing for salmon. Everything was going according to plan until a local seagull decided it wanted a piece of the action—specifically, a taste of their Black Jaw Fly. The bird completely misjudged the dive and managed to hook itself, turning a casual fishing trip into an accidental avian rescue mission.
Rueb sprang into action, grabbing the rod and carefully reeling in the winged intruder, while Zahradka stood by for the assist. Thanks to some quick teamwork, they safely unhooked the feathered flyer at the boat and sent it right back into the friendly skies, no worse for wear.
