HELENA- As the 2025 paddlefish season ends, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is conducting telephone and email surveys for both harvest and catch & release paddlefish tags.

Harvest phone surveys are being conducted to a random sample of Yellowstone River yellow tag holders and upper Missouri River white harvest tag holders. All lower Missouri River green tag holders and Fort Peck Dredge Cuts blue tag holders will be surveyed by phone. New this year, all upper Missouri River “catch & release only” tag holders will receive an online survey via email.

Surveys will ask anglers about paddlefish catch, effort, satisfaction, and any additional comments about this season. Surveys will take about two minutes to complete. FWP needs to hear from selected tag holders, even those who did not participate in the 2025 paddlefish season.

Phone surveys will come from a Bozeman FWP phone number. Email surveys will come from FWP’s montanafwp@announcements.mt.govemail address. Three attempts will be made to contact tag holders.

Participation in this survey is very important. Information provided helps fisheries biologists manage this unique Montana fishing opportunity. If you have any questions about this survey, please feel free to contact FWP at 406-444-4017.
