Matt Sather tagged an absolute tank of a Montana whitetail last weekend—his heaviest-antlered buck to date—and the excitement still hasn’t worn off. A quick 30–40 yard shot with his 6.5 Creedmoor sealed the deal, and while the photos are impressive, Matt insists they don’t come close to capturing the buck’s true mass. Hunting from a wheelchair and mostly from the road means he doesn’t get many chances at a whitetail of this caliber, which makes this deer even more special. With 4⅝ inches of circumference on one side and about 4½ on the other between the G2s and G3s, this buck carried some serious mass—and one very well-earned celebration.

Congratulations, Matt!
