According to a recent press release, the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Operation Game Thief is offering a reward of up to $6,500 for details leading to the arrest of those involved in the illegal killing of a desert bighorn sheep near Gila Bend, Arizona. The Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society, Arizona Deer Association, and Arizona Antelope Foundation add an extra $6,000 to the reward. The sheep was found near S. Enterprise Rd. Travis Clarkson, a wildlife manager, emphasizes the severity of poaching, urging anyone with information to contact the Operation Game Thief Hotline at 1-800-352-0700. Caller identities remain confidential.
So, if you are a Montanan who heads to Arizona in the winter, or if you’re down there for any reason at all, if you hear any information on this case, call the hotline.
