When you work remotely and your boss says, “You can work from anywhere,” most people picture a kitchen table, a coffee shop, maybe a back patio. But ice anglers hear that and immediately think, perfect — see you from the lake. “Anywhere” absolutely includes a shelter in the middle of a frozen lake with a propane heater going and a cell phone balanced on a tackle box.
There’s something really cool about discussing quarterly projections while staring down a hole in the ice, willing a mark on the flasher to commit. “That’s a great strategy, Cap,” you say calmly, while your other hand holds your jig rod.
Remote work is all about flexibility… and some just define “office environment” as 10 inches of ice and a bucket seat.
Good luck out there, and stay safe!
